INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON TECHNOLOGICAL, REGULATORY AND LEGAL STRATEGIES OF THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY - 2018
- INTRODUCTION
The Catholic University of Angola with the support of Chevron, Polytechnic Institute of Technology and Sciences and the Society of Petroleum Engineers, caIls this International Petroleum Conference with intention to have the opportunity to be the venue where researchers and engineers in the oil industry can present their work concerning the “Technological, Regulatory and Legal Strategies of the Petroleum Industry”. Also it is intended for a wide cross-functional audience of engineering, earth science, drilling, operations and Information Technology staffs. This conference is to provide an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues, energize student, and share experiences and best practices. Importantly, it also contributes to the UCAN-ISPTEC-CHEVRON-SPE organizational capability, which means building a world-class system combining people, processes and culture to achieve and sustain a teaching- leading performance.
Petroleum engineering plays a major role in shaping the modem society by providing advanced new strategy to enhance oil/gas production and recoveries to maintain a balanced market supply of oil and gas in an increasing national and global consumption levels.

3.ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTATIO
Oral and poster sessions will be focused on the following themes of the Meeting:
- A.Petroleum Exploration, Production and Refining Technology
- B.Fiscal Incentives to Marginal Fields Discoveries
- C.Environmental Sustainability in the Petroleum Industry
- D.Exploration and Production of Natural Gas in Angola
4.ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Abstracts will be accepted for either oral or poster presentation. Please indicate your preference when submitting your forms.
All the abstracts will be reviewed and approved by the scientific committee. Upon your acceptance, you will be notified if you will attend an oral or a poster session.
With approval of the authors, selected abstracts will be submitted for publication.

The deadline for abstract submission is 30th July 2015.
Acceptance will be decided by the 30th September 2015.
Detailed program information will be announced after abstract selection at the end of October.
5.ABSTRACT FORMAT
a) Abstract is limited to one A4 size page, text only without any figures or tables. Top, bottom, left, and right margins 25 mm.
b) Title: Upper and lower case, left justified, Times New Roman font, 14 pt bold.
c) Contributors’ names: Upper and lower case left, justified, first name first, surname last, Times font, 11pt.
d) Affiliation: Upper and lower case, left justified, Times font, 10 pt. Numbered superscripts should be used to indicate the affiliation of each contributor. E-mail address can be added in parentheses at the end of the corresponding contributor’s affiliation.
e) Main text: Single spaced text, Times 10 pt font, no section headings.
f) 500 words are limited for one abstract.
g) One pictures and one graph could be added to support or make an explanation.
6.COMMERCIAL EXHIBITIONS AND BUSINESS EXPO
During the Conference the “Business Expo” will open to offer a unique networking opportunity for Oil scientists to meet representatives from research institutes and companies. It will also allow companies to carry out marketing, business development and recruitment activities. The Business Expo offers an exhibition area for companies, organizations, and institutions. 7.FIELD TRIP
There will be one Field Trip arranged for the event. The Field Trip will involve visiting sites for oil and gas explorations in Angola. The costs for the Field Trip will be indicated in the second circular. Pre/post-events excursion fees will cover costs of transportation, accommodation, meals, and guidebook.

The official languages of the Conference shall be in English and Portuguese.
Simultaneous translation will be provided.
9. REGISTRATION
